Polished Concrete

Polished concrete is a high-performance flooring solution created through a progressive process of grinding, honing, densifying, and polishing the concrete surface. The finished floor becomes smoother, stronger, easier to maintain, and more reflective while preserving the natural character of the concrete.

Corvanta Concrete Systems provides polished concrete flooring for commercial and industrial facilities throughout Florida. Every slab is different, so we evaluate the concrete, intended use, desired appearance, aggregate exposure, gloss level, and project schedule before recommending a system. Our goal is to deliver a durable finished floor that performs under real-world traffic and complements the surrounding space.

‍ ‍

Cream Finish

A cream finish lightly refines the upper surface of the slab while exposing little or no aggregate. It preserves more of the original finishing characteristics and can provide a smooth, natural appearance when the concrete was placed and finished consistently.

Medium Aggregate Exposure

Medium exposure removes additional surface material and reveals more of the stone within the slab. This creates a more pronounced architectural appearance, but the final exposure depends heavily on the original placement and finishing of the concrete.

Full Aggregate Exposure

Full aggregate exposure reveals larger stone throughout the floor. This can create a premium terrazzo-like appearance but requires more grinding, labor, tooling, and floor preparation. Aggregate exposure can vary because the stone inside the slab is not always distributed evenly

Benefits of Polished Concrete

Long-Term Durability

Properly installed polished concrete can withstand heavy foot traffic, carts, forklifts, and demanding commercial use. Because the finish is created within the concrete surface, there is no thick coating layer that must continually peel or delaminate.

Cost-Effective Life Cycle

Polished concrete can offer strong long-term value because the existing slab becomes the finished floor. This can reduce the need for additional flooring materials and repeated replacement of short-lived finishes.

Unique Appearance

No two polished concrete floors look exactly the same. Natural variation, aggregate, repairs, joints, finishing marks, and slab history all contribute to the finished appearance.

Unlike waxed floors or coated systems, polished concrete requires no stripping or waxing. Routine dust mopping and occasional auto-scrubbing help maintain appearance while minimizing maintenance costs over the life of the floor.
